Jason Gonzalez is a craft barbecue enthusiast and restaurant owner from Waggaman, Louisiana. After working for many years in the oil and gas industry as a structural designer, Gonzalez decided to pursue his passion for central Texas-style craft barbecue full-time and opened Gonzo's Smokehouse & BBQ in January 2020.

Gonzalez is known for his dedication to perfecting the art of barbecue and has traveled all around the United States to try different styles of craft barbecue and learn techniques from pit masters in various regions specifically Texas.  His restaurant, Gonzo's Smokehouse & BBQ, has quickly become a popular destination for barbecue lovers in Luling and the surrounding areas, thanks to Gonzalez's commitment to using only the highest quality ingredients and smoking techniques using an all wood burning offset smoker.

In addition to running Gonzo's Smokehouse & BBQ, Gonzalez is also an active member of the barbecue community, often participating in cooking competitions (Hogs for the Cause) and sharing his knowledge and expertise with others. He has been doing cooking competitions and pop ups since 2016. His love for barbecue and his dedication to his craft have made him a respected figure in the world of craft barbecue.
